It was with a light and classical music program, to the sound of the mandolins, that the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra opened the 2019/2020 Artistic Season on September 4th, Wednesday.
This new season also marks the opening of the first concert in the new cultural space of the Orchestra: the VIDAMAR Resort Hotel Madeira Congress Centre.
Conducted by its artistic director, André Martins, the Orchestra took to the stage of the ‘Sunrise’ Auditorium with its 20 performers and had the special presence of the local singer Miguel Pires in some of the themes presented in this program.
The guest enchanted gifts with portuguese themes such as ‘Pomba Branca’ and ‘Noites da Madeira’, by Max, as well as other unforgettable international songs such as ‘What a Wonderful World’, ‘New York New York’, ‘My Way’ and ‘Summertime’.
