The month of November of the Season 2019/2020 of the Orquestra de Bandolins da Madeira | Madeira Mandolin Orchestra® opens this week with a breakthrough, the much desired return to the “Mother House of Democracy” in Madeira, the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, for a memorable concert, featuring an unique program of classical music to the rhythm of the mandolins of the performers of this orchestra.

This concert that opens the weekly concerts in November, marks the return of the Orchestra to the Noble Hall of the Assembly, 7 years after his last performance in this place. It is a space that, besides being emblematic, carries memories and historical landmarks of the long life of the Orchestra.

The first participation of the Orquestra de Bandolins da Madeira | Madeira Mandolin Orchestra® in this place, took place on June 29, 2004, when presenting its first edited DVD. An event that, in addition to the invited personalities, featured a mini-performance by the Orchestra.

Its second participation, as part of the celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira (the Assembly Day), on 9 December 2012, the Orquestra de Bandolins da Madeira | Madeira Mandolin Orchestra® was accompanied by the voices of the sopranos Carina Pimenta and Cláudia Sousa, having been interpreted several classic and recognized themes.

The Mandolin Orchestra performed for over an hour in a room full of guests and people, and it was a special day for one of the group’s members to mark his birthday.

For the story, is the performance in a room whose acoustics further brightens any performance, even because the sounds of mandolins have come a long way over these years of performances.
